0.1ml/kg for 4-6 consecutive days
Corresponds to dose of 5 micrograms/kg of cabergoline per day
As well as being used to treat false pregnancy, Galastop® is also licensed for clearing up lactation following weaning.

Adverse Effects

Cabergoline has a high safety index. However, possible adverse-effects include:

1. Vomiting, anorexia and drowsiness may occur in some animals within the first 1-2 days of treatment.  There is no need to discontinue unless signs are severe or persist beyond the second dose
2. Reduced blood pressure (hypotension) - Galastop® may potentially cause mild hypotension in treated animals. This is not usually clinically significant but it is advisable to stop the use of Galastop® for 3-4 days prior to giving a general anaesthetic or any other medication which may cause hypotension (for example furosemide and ACP)
